Marijuana can have drastically different effects from one person to the next. Some people say they feel happy or relaxed. Smoking while working, may not be “that” unhealthy, but it is definitely highly advised that you do not get high on any form of the drug since it usually messes with your motor functions. It is unheard of that a man takes any form of drugs to work out (besides the obvious Steroids) since the point of the gym would be to better your body than to destroy it by smoking cannabis. Instead, you should prioritize healthy eating and diets since that would boost your workout effectiveness in the long run.
Why Smoke in the First Place?
Considering that you are working out, smoking cannabis would be quite frankly a foolish decision since the point of the drug would be to mess with your cognitive function, which debilitates your effectiveness to work out. Smoking is also usually not prohibited in a lot of gyms, since a lot of people are focused on working out rather than smoking or drinking. According to the National Institute of Drug Abuse,
“As a result, using marijuana causes impaired thinking and interferes with a person’s ability to learn and perform complicated tasks. THC also disrupts functioning of the cerebellum and basal ganglia, brain areas that regulate balance, posture, coordination, and reaction time.“
Marijuana is a really powerful drug, smoking it while going to the gym is just asking for trouble. After all, when you smoke marijuana it usually makes you more “loose” with your words which can be problematic since you will be disrupting the peace in whichever area you are in. So, it is best if you keep those activities in their respective places since you may not find it annoying, some people do find it annoying.
